The Londoner, Restaurants & Bars
This 16 story super boutique hotel is home to six concept eateries, designed by Yabu Pushelberg for leading UK hotel group, Edwardian. With the guest experience a central focus, The Londoner features an exclusive ‘Residence’ made up of 3 unique, 24 hour spaces, hidden away from the hustle & bustle of Leicester Square. Intimate dining is enabled in the conceptual, artistic Y bar, with one of a kind light up wall panelling & a playful stone table it’s the perfect space to escape.
Guests can also experience traditional beauty in The Drawing Room, surrounded with a soft colour pallet & fine artwork, it’s a place to appreciate fine interiors over an a la carte menu, specialist wine list & signature cocktails. The exclusive trio is completed by The Whiskey Room, secluded by a hidden passage & only seating an intimate 14 guests, it’s the very definition of super-boutique! This small space has many unique features, such as a bespoke bronze mirrored ceiling & stunning timber joinery to house the rare & renowned whiskeys on offer. Rich green tones add a classic British element to the members only club, along with subtle brass details.
The hotel also offers dining experiences to the public, overseen by Nobu’s global private dining expert, Amir Jati. Located on the ground floor is The Londoners signature restaurant, Whitcomb’s, an all day dining space featuring Mediterranean small plates & mains evoking the essence of contemporary French cooking. Whitcomb’s features classic EES timber finishes, luxe Italian marble & bespoke metal fabricated screens, complimented by Edwardian’s tasteful FF&E styling, it’s the new hot spot for a bite to eat for Londoners.
Inspired by the proximity of the west end, The Stage radiates from the hotel lobby & features an all day programme of food & drink, providing elegant luxury. Hand crafted metal shelving, cutting edge wavy walls & bold marble create a space that could only be produced by EE Smith Contracts, with it’s noteworthy Edwardian details & inspirational American design.
Joshua’s Tavern is set to be the hub for creative communities around the globe. Clad in bright mirror polished copper, it’s a space like no other, which challenged our manufacturing capabilities to push the ever evolving boundaries & produce an artistically beautiful interior. The exposed copper pipework & fold away stools create a cool hide away for guests to enjoy over 50 regionally sourced gins, each with a 5 stage matching process, led by head mixologist, Peiraolo Schirru.
Last but not least is 8 at The Londoner, a decadent rooftop izakaya lounge, presenting a palette of world class, modern Japanese cuisine, innovative mixology & dramatic design. The challenging concept lead us to use new materials, such as Tricoya, a weather resistant timber substrate, which worked effectively amongst the striking, bold monotone colour palette. The intricate rope work design was another first for EE Smith & our trusted supply chain is what makes us unparalleled within the specialist fit out industry. Complete with floating fire pit, on trend foliage & stunning banquette seating, it’s set to be London’s hottest new rooftop.
